On July 11th Smart Road Solutions installed the first Smart Tunnel Protector® on the Anninksweg in Hengelo, in collaboration with ProRail.
The initial results are very promising. Historically: this railway bridge was struck on average every two weeks by an overheight vehicle, while the height barrier itself was hit approximately twice per week.
Since the installation, no collisions have occurred to date.
By analysing the data, Smart Road Solutions can also confirm that several overheight vehicles were detected in time, allowing drivers to stop safely and decide to turn back.
